Six weeks are in the books, and I don't think we can truly say that there is a power house in the NFL. Last season, it was safe to assume that you would see the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs atop most power rankings, but this year that is not the case. The NFL is not as top heavy as it was last season, and that's what makes this year's power rankings all the more tricky to arrange.
With that being said, let's jump right into the first official power rankings brought to you by the staff at The Rocky and Meisty Show:
1. Kansas City Chiefs
High: 1
Low: 3
Patrick Mahomes certainly hasn’t been putting up the performances we are used to seeing from him recently, but the Chiefs are 5-1 and beat the Ravens and Bills by multiple scores in the last four weeks.
2. Seattle Seahawks
High: 2
Low: 4
the Seahawks feature a defense that has given up the most yards per game and lost Bruce Irvin for the year. However, they have plenty of depth at linebacker and Russell Wilson looks to be in MVP form, which earns them this spot near the top of the power rankings.
3. Tennessee Titans
High: 1
Low: 5
The Titans squeezed by a struggling Texans team last week, but the folks in Tennessee will take a 5-0 start. Following a 212 rushing game, Derrick Henry leads the league with 588 yard in the ground.
4. Baltimore Ravens
High: 3
Low: 6
Despite running a much slower-pace offense than they are used to, the Ravens are still 5-1. Lamar Jackson is going to have to play a little better if the Ravens want to content for a Super Bowl.
5. Green Bay Packers
High: 3
Low: 7
Aaron Rodgers committed four turnover worthy throws last week after not throwing a single one through the first five weeks of the season. As a result, they put up a dud against Tampa Bay. While I will certainly give the Bucs a lot of credit, I’m still optimistic about what Rodgers has in store as he continues along his revenge tour. One bad game is not enough to cause panic in Green Bay.
6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
High: 2
Low: 9
Everyone seems to be jumping on the Buccaneers train after their impressive win over the Packers. While I am certainly impressed with their defense which features the number-one ranked coverage unit in the league and the second-ranked pass-rush unit, I am not completely sold on Tom Brady being his old self. Much like Big Ben, Brady has done everything in his power to prove me wrong. We will see how this plays out down the stretch.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers
High: 5
Low: 7
I’ve been very critical of Ben Roethlisberger this year, and he’s been doing everything in his power to prove me wrong. I’m still concerned about his performance though, and even following a beating of the Cleveland Browns, I’m not quite ready to put them in the top five. This defense, however, lead by T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward, is enough to make them a scary team and a legitimate contender in the AFC.
8. New Orleans Saints
High: 8
Low: 9
Drew Brees might not have the same arm strength he used to, but the accuracy is still there. This methodical style of offense should be enough to lead the Saints to the playoffs, but how deep of a run they will make remains to be seen.
9. Buffalo Bills
High: 7
Low: 11
Josh Allen came back down to earth against the Chiefs on Monday night, throwing for just 122 yards through the air. The big story were his numbers under pressure; he went 3-for-13 for 22 yards when under duress. However, I’m willing to let this one slide, as it was a rainy game and neither offense was really able to jump start the passing game. I’m still liking what I’m seeing out of Allen through the first six weeks of play.
10. Arizona Cardinals
High: 9
Low: 15
In somewhat of an unexpected turn of events, the Arizona Cardinals find themselves sneaking into the top ten of this week's power rankings. Although they have won four of their first six games, the Cards have had one of the easiest schedules in football through the first six weeks of the season, as they have yet to face a team with winning record. That will come to an end this week when the unbeaten Seattle Seahawks come to town.
11. Chicago Bears
High: 8
Low: 14
12. New England Patriots
High: 11
Low: 14
13. Los Angeles Rams
