After four weeks of action in the 2021 NFL season, only one unbeaten team remains. Four weeks, however, is a small sample size. There are a lot of factors other than wins and losses at this juncture in the season. Does the Arizona Cardinals 4-0 record alone make them worthy of the top spot?
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Some might disagree with this ranking, wondering how we are forgetting about the fact that the Chiefs have lost half of their first four contests. However, Patrick Mahomes has still thrown for more touchdown passes than any other quarterback in the league, and continues to rank among the top in tallying big-time throws. As long as this quarterback and his array of weapons are in place, it's going to be difficult to de-thrown the Chiefs as the NFL's best team.
2. Tamp Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs needed a little help to snag the victory on Sunday night, as they saw Nick Folk's 56-yard field goal just miss off the cross bar. Tom Brady did his job in the much anticipated return to Foxborough by orchestrating the 7-play, 45-yard drive to set up the game-winning field goal by Ryan Succop with under two minutes to go.
3. Arizona Cardinals
To answer the question we posed at the onset of this article, record doesn't mean everything through four games of an NFL season. Be that as it may, the Cardinals are certainly off to an impressive start to the 2021 campaign, scoring a whopping 140 points through four games. A.J. Green has seen a resurgence in this offense, leading the team in receiving yards, and trailing DeAndre Hopkins by only one target as the team-leader in that category.
4. Buffalo Bills
The Bills were able to hold out the lowly Texans to just over 100 yards of offense and picked off rookie David Mills four time on Sunday, but this defense is going to be put to the test in a primetime battle with the Chiefs in Week 5.
5. Cleveland Browns
Baker Mayfield did not have his best performance against the Vikings in Week 4, but this Browns defense shut out the otherwise high-flying Minnesota offense after scoring their only points of the game early on. Cleveland as a team has allowed the second-fewest yards and the fourth-fewest points through four weeks of play.
6. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have been finding different ways to win in each of their three victories, relying on a combination of a dominant running-game, a stout defensive performance, or the arm of Lamar Jackson.
7. Green Bay Packers
It's as though Aaron Rodgers was just trying to mess with us when he displayed a putrid performance in Week 1 against the Saints, playing relatively mistake-free football and putting a lot of points on the board. He has been heavily reliant on Davante Adams, who leads the league in receptions has has been targeted more than any player in the league other than Cooper Kupp.
8. Los Angeles Rams
Speaking of Cooper Kupp, the fourth-year wideout has already scored five touchdowns this season, and has been a big-play machine for McVay and the Rams. This loss against Arizona will sting, but the Rams still feature one of the premier rosters in football.
9. Dallas Cowboys
Some have argued that Dak Prescott should be in MVP talks at this juncture in the season. Whether or not that's true, scoring 36 points and rushing for 245 yards on the NFL's previous number one defense is nothing to scoff at.
10. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are trying to prove to the city of Los Angeles that they are the team you should be rooting for, after knocking off the mighty Chiefs and previously undefeated Raiders in back-to-back weeks. As his fantasy owners know, Austin Ekeler has been cooking, total over 400 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns through the first four contests.
