It’s the 4th quarter and Carson Wentz has 2 minutes to drive down the field and win the game.
Hopes are high, but when was the last time Wentz actually delivered? It takes our old nemesis, the good old G-Men, to rouse Carson from his slumber of low-grade mediocrity.
Finally, Carson Wentz marches the Eagles offense down the field and delivers an 18-yard touchdown pass to Boston Scott. The Eagles have escaped with a 22-21 victory.
Thursday night bullets
• Utilizing Carson’s mobility is good, but not on a 2-point-conversion.
• Where's our run defense? The D-line has got to get to the quarterback quicker; Daniel Jones had way too much time to throw the ball. We have to thank God he can't run more than 30 yards without tasting turf.
• Fulgham! Keep him safe at all costs.
• It was nice to have D-Jax back for a game, but he’s back on the IR now.
• Jake Elliott either has to be good or bad, not both. He missed a 29-yard kick Thursday night but slammed a 50+ last season against the same team.
• When did Wentz start throwing interceptions every game?
Closing thoughts:
The Eagles have enough solid players to have a good team. They need to find healthy players that play at a consistent level and figure out a way to lift this injury curse.
