NBA Briefly In-Depth

Today on Briefly In-Depth we are going to be looking at the first two days of this week which has featured a lot of drama erupting all over the league.

Starting up in New York, Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving is slated to miss at least 4 games due to being under investigation for attending a party and going against the strict Covid protocols the NBA has set. This was after taking off a few games due to a personal matter. If found to be in violation he can be fined $50,000 for breaking the protocol and $400,000 dollars for every game he misses, totaling about $2.5 million lost for Irving. But it doesn’t seem as if his team is missing him, because Kevin Durant was able to drop 34 points and overcome one of the top teams in the league this year in the Memphis Grizzlies.

Swinging over to the other New York team, the Knicks faced off against the Charlotte Hornets who are on a 4-game winning streak and thanks to Gordon Hayward who put up 34 points they were able to keep their streak going.

We have good news for the Washington Wizards after hitting a dry spell as Bradley Beal once again performed spectacularly with 34 points and beating out the Phoenix Suns, who have started this season ablaze.

The Los Angles Lakers faced off against the Houston Rockets for the second time in just three days. Once again they won with a bang, leading to some high emotions in the post game interview, ending with James Harden stating that “The team just wasn’t good enough” and that “he had given the city his all” and “there is nothing more that could be done”. With that being said, stay tuned for a potential trade coming in the next few weeks for the Rockets.

The Philadelphia 76er’s took care of a shorthanded Miami Heat team, although the game was taken to over-time and Tyler Herro recorded 34 points; a career-high for him. Joel Embiid came in with 45 points and closed it down.

And lastly the Golden State Warriors faced off against the Indiana Pacers, and even though the Warriors played a good game, the Pacers were able to take the W going on a 13-0 run late in the 4th quarter.

This has been a Briefly In-Depth look in to the NBA.
