NBA: Briefly In-Depth

It was busy weekend over in the NBA. The competition this year having so many equally matched teams creates intense match-ups that can even be considered play-offish.

We start of with Warriors facing the Clippers Friday night, where Steph Curry scored 38 points with 9 three pointers and the familiar 22 lead blown by the Clippers. Curry would be brought back to earth on Sunday against the Raptors though, when he went just 1-10 from the 3 point line. But thanks to the craftiness of Damion Lee, they were able to squeeze out a win to conclude the weekend.

As for the Bulls, they spent their weekend in LA, first facing off against the Lakers and then heading over to the Clippers. Although they lost both games, both came down to the wire with Zack Levine showing up, as he totaled 38 and 45 points in those respective games. Against the Clippers, we saw Kawhi Leonard reach the all coveted spot of scoring 10,000 career points and joining an elite group of Hall-of-Famers.

Lamelo Ball faced off against his brother, cashing in a near triple-double and the win. If you thought he was done; think again. He came back Saturday night against the Hawks and dropped the triple double securing the spot as the youngest player to do so.

The Celtics overtook the Wizards, leaving them with their terrible starting record even despite Beal dropping 41. Jason Tatum was able to pull through with 32 points and the W.

Demar Derozan continues his efficient start to the season with the Spurs in a game Saturday night against the Timberwolves. Even thought they had Karl Anthony Towns back in the line-up, he managed 38 points and handed the L to the T-Wolves.

The Heat gave the Wizards their second loss of the weekend with Tyler Herro dropping 31 points which is a season-high for him.

After a slow start with the Mavs, Luka Doncic showed out with a triple-double over powering Tim Hardaway’s 36 Points and 8 three pointers for the win.

And finally the Lakers faced off against the rockets on Sunday night. Lebron James with a calm 18 points but it didn’t seem he needed more than that because they dominated a short-handed Rockets team after Demarcus Cousins got ejected following a controversial foul.

Tune back in on Wednesday to go Briefly in-Depth in the NBA
